About the Role


We are hiring an HVAC Sales Applications Engineer to help continue to build our high performing operations and join us in our mission to create healthy spaces for people to live, work and play in a sustainable way. The successful candidate will support sales and business development growth that will fuel the delivery of company goals and culture. This position works closely with both production and customers.

Key Responsibilities


  • Assist customers in selecting the optimal solution for their applications, leveraging your expertise in the psychometric chart and ASHRAE standards. 
  • Collaborate closely with clients to recommend the best products, features, and accessories tailored to their unique projects, delivering exceptional service. 
  • Manage and execute on 5-10 separate projects a day. 
  • Master the intricacies of our products and effortlessly communicate technical concepts to customers.  
  • Consolidate and update information from various sources into existing documents, primarily PDFs, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Effectively convey product information to both customers and other Oxygen8 teams, with clear and concise communication is instrumental in facilitating seamless project execution. 
  • Represent Oxygen8 during industry events or webinars, showcasing our expertise and fostering connections within the HVAC community. 
  • Build strong relationships with existing clients through meaningful interactions and exceptional service. 
  • Facilitate communication between customers and the outside sales, production, and applications teams to ensure seamless project execution. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that all information is accurately conveyed to each department. 
  • Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date standard operating procedures. 
  • Provide virtual training to customers on Configur8, our selection software. 
  • Stay updated on product changes and updates, adapting your knowledge to provide the most current information to clients. 
  • Participate in new product introduction to sales teams and customers. 

Experience and Skills


  • Bachelor or Diploma in Engineering / HVAC Technology, or related field. Professional certifications (e.g., LEED, CEM, PH) are a plus. 
  • 3+ years’ experience working in the HVAC industry, preferably in ERV/HRV. 
  • In-depth knowledge of the psychometric chart, ASHRAE standards, and HVAC system design. Ability to apply these principles to real-world applications and solutions. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to ensure effective communication with customers and team members. 
  • Strong technical communication skills, with a focus on translating technical information into easily understandable terms for diverse audiences. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while recognizing the importance of seeking assistance when needed. 
  • Excellent time management skills, with a strong orientation towards customer responsiveness and commitment to meeting project deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Expect to work on 5-10 different projects a day. 
  • A positive attitude, fostering excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills within the team.

Annual Salary:
  • $65,000 to $75,000 based on experience

Location:
  • Hybrid work schedule (TBD), based out of our Toronto office (#10 - 670 Progress Avenue, Scarborough, ON) or Vancouver office (1575 Vernon Drive, Vancouver, BC).
  • Candidates from remote locations may be considered for full-time remote positions, depending on their experience.

Compensation

$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
